The Interfaith Mission Service (IMS) remains committed to its vision to help fulfill Dr. King’s global vision of a world where all people can share in the wealth of the earth.
Vision:
The vision of IMS is to be recognized as a leader in creating a beloved community. In the Beloved Community:
- Poverty, hunger, and homelessness will not be tolerated because international standards of human decency will not allow it.
- Racism and all forms of discrimination, bigotry, and prejudice will be replaced by an all-inclusive spirit of sisterhood and brotherhood.
- Disputes will be resolved by peaceful conflict-resolution and reconciliation of adversaries through a mutual determined commitment to nonviolence, instead of force.
- Economic inequity will be alleviation, and economic justice will be achieved.
Mission:
The IMS Mission is to strengthen and enhance our congregations’ capabilities to meet human needs, participate in the public forum, and promote religious, racial and cultural harmony.
